Many people do not realize that thinning hair can start at a young age before any balding patches are evident. Looking at one’s parents and grandparents can tell you that baldness is a possibility in your future. Even if your genes do not predispose balding… thinning, lackluster hair is a result of the hair follicle’s inability to receive proper nutrients and remain healthy. The new lightweight, hand-held laser hair comb delivers low level light laser therapy to your scalp to rejuvenate weak hair follicles, delivering these nutrients and providing the following results. Thicker looking hair, shinier, healthier looking hair and stronger hair are all possible as the laser therapy improves hair follicle cellular metabolism and protein synthesis through improved blood circulation. Existing hair will also enjoy these results and appear fuller as healthy follicles produce hair with improved shaft quality.

A laser hair comb uses low level laser or cold laser therapy as a non-invasive methods to re-grow hair and restore its youthful qualities. Surgery a prescription medications or covering up the problem are the only alternatives to this light therapy. No chemicals are used and there is no thermal or heat damage to the scalp or existing hair. Both men and women are good candidates for this treatment and it is painless and safe with no known side effects. In fact, use of these devices can decrease inflammation and edema of the area treated.

What is holding you back from buying a laser comb?

Some people may think that the cost is prohibitive. The initial outlay of $300-$500 for the laser comb is the main cost. A good quality laser comb can use rechargeable batteries which is a cost savings. Any shampoos or conditioners that compliment the laser therapy process cost no more than traditional quality products, and any suggested vitamins are good for all areas of your health. A de-chlorinating shower filter helps remove the harmful chemicals that build up on your scalp and skin, but even these are available at discounted rates when you purchase a complete hair therapy system from a reputable dealer. Healthy eating and exercise which also contribute to healthy hair are a benefit that we all could use more of!

Some people aren’t aware of how easy it is to use the laser hair comb. Manufacturers recommend that the comb be used three days a week for 20-30 minutes per session. The laser comb is lightweight and should have no cords to get in the way of taking it in any room of the house or on vacation. The treatments require one to move the comb over the entire scalp or just over the desired area for timed intervals that are easy to gauge without timers. The covering on the laser comb or brush hold the lasers at the desired distance from the scalp. No need to worry about being too close or far away for optimum effectiveness.

Perhaps you are wondering if using a laser comb is safe. The newest, quality, 35 diode laser comb follows all FDA guidelines for a low level laser device, and since no heat is created, there is no chance of burns or skin damage. As with any appliance, users are cautioned to not stare at the laser light and to use the comb only as directed. Hopefully this has answered some of your questions about this relatively new use for low level light lasers. As we age and seek new ways to keep our youthful looks and vitality, this is only one of the many methods to safely and inexpensively achieve that goal.
The post It is Never Too Early to Halt Hair Loss by Using a Laser Hair Comb first appeared on Nutreve Hair Loss Prevention.

Why Filter Your Shower Water?

Shower filters protect your health and the health of your hair and can actually keep you from losing hair. They remove Chlorine from the water and the steam that envelops your body each time you take a shower. They soften the water to reduce soap scum and hard water deposits. They also reduce rust and other oxidized minerals in your shower water. Chlorine, soap scum, hard water and oxidized minerals are all hard on the hair that we have, and can damage the scalp and clog the pores of our present hair and inhibit new hair growth. The better question is “Why Wouldn’t we filter our Shower Water?”

How is Chlorine Harmful?

We take in up to 10 times more chlorine and other chemicals from showering than from drinking water, and the American Journal Of Public Health has documented a link between chlorine and breast, colon and bladder cancer, and has listed showering as a major percentage of this harmful exposure. When chlorine vaporizes, it combines with other airborne particles in your shower to form a chloroform gas which can be a contributor to asthma and other respiratory problems.

The U.S. EPA confirms that due to chlorine in our shower water, there is an elevated level of chloroform gas in almost every home in America today. That statistic alone is frightening. Losing hair is just one of the results of harmful chlorine we can see. It appears that it is just part of the array of health issues we face from our environment on a daily basis.

Filtered Water is Softer on Hair and Skin

More noticeable than health hazards, are the cosmetic benefits of using a shower filter. By removing the chemicals from your shower water, you notice softer skin and hair right away. Swimming in a chlorinated pool or using a chlorinated Jacuzzi or hot tub noticeably leaves your skin drier, causing flaky and itchy skin and sometimes rashes. Showering in filtered water is less drying and allows both skin and hair to retain moisture longer, which gives it a younger and healthier look and feel. In a warm shower the pores of the skin and scalp open allowing rapid absorption of chemicals including chlorine that are in the water and the surrounding vapor. Chlorine and some other harmful chemicals vaporize at a lower temperature than water and at a faster rate, so the steam that we breathe in and absorb through our skin while showering has highly concentrated levels of chlorine. Filtered shower water balances the water’s pH and keeps the harsh chemicals away from our skin and scalp, not to mention lungs, leaving skin, scalp and hair softer to the touch, and us all breathing easier! It keeps us from losing hair through drying, breakage and clogging of hair follicles.

How do Shower Filters Work?

There are 4 types of filtration methods used in shower filters. The most efficient at filtering warmer temperature water such as shower water is known as KDF (Kinetic Degradation Fluxion). KDF is a high purity copper-zinc alloy that creates a tiny electrical charge when water flows through it. This electrical charge forces free chlorine to combine with minerals in the water (calcium or other alkaline minerals) to form a harmless chloride (a chlelatable body salt). KDF also removes lead, iron and hydrogen sulfide, and inhibits the growth of bacteria, algae and fungi.

Carbon physically removes impurities from water because its surface is porous and “sticky” to the minerals that pass over it. The carbon used in shower filters must be of a high quality due to the warm water temperature.

Chlorgon is a chemical which is best combined with the KDF method as it also converts free chlorine and some combined chlorine molecules into the harmless chlorides mentioned above.

Crystals and magnets soften water by breaking up clusters of water molecules thereby reducing their size, making the water feel softer and allowing soap and shampoo to foam up more.

How do I Choose the Correct Filter?

Shower filters come in all shapes, sizes and cost levels. Some need to be replaced every 6-8 months, while others have removable filter canisters that reduce the cost and are easier to do than replacing the whole filter itself. KDF is the standard for an efficient filter, but if it is combined with other filter media it may be more effective. Shower filters alone are a great investment, but the correct shampoos, conditioners, skin products and nutrition all help to make a healthier body all around. We should use an entire system of products and health regimes to address the aging effects created by our environment. Dry skin and losing hair can be a thing of the past!
The post Shower Filters Can Keep You from Losing Your Hair? first appeared on Nutreve Hair Loss Prevention.

Nourish your hair…for GOOD by feeding it inside and out. Our hair is built of proteins (80-90%), so along with a balanced diet to get you the vitamins and minerals you need, make sure to eat protein-rich foods as well. Great sources are organic, grass-fed chicken, beef, cheese and eggs. If you are vegetarian or vegan then plant-based substitutes to get you the protein you need are legumes, nuts, tofu, seeds and hemp (hemp seeds are nutty tasting and delicious!). Eating at least 5 ounces daily (150 grams) will do it. For those vitamins (especially B) eat kiwi and pumpkin seeds. Healthy hair also needs the essential fatty acids from such sources as walnuts, avocados, flaxseeds and wild salmon. Important minerals for healthy hair production are zinc (found in seafood and legumes), silica (found in potatoes, red and green peppers and bean sprouts) and magnesium (found in green vegetables and nuts). Diets low in iron can also contribute to hair loss or poor hair quality, especially in women.

Our hair follicles are considered a “non-essential tissue” by the body’s computers, and therefore they are one of the last to receive nutritional substances. Anytime our bodies go for too long without enough proteins and other nutrients necessary for optimum growth, these follicles which produce our hair cannot keep up and our hair begins to thin and fall out. Before this, the hair shafts begin to show a lack of optimum health by becoming duller and prone to more breakage as they grow out. Due to a decreased capability of the follicle, the hair that is produced is thinner as well.

We also need to feed our hair on the “outside”. There are many new “hair systems” out now that claim to contain (elastic) proteins to coat the hair shaft and make it more resilient and resistant to breakage. The way some of these sound, it seems that they are claiming to “revive” your hair even if technically it is dead tissue once it leaves the follicle chamber in your scalp. However, many of these products do coat the strands or keep the scalp clear of built-up oils that can clog the follicles. Clogged follicles become constricted and end up producing a finer hair that has less sheen. Part of this is due to the physical constriction and part is due to a lack of air circulation that keeps your scalp healthy. Beware of super drying shampoos, however. You may feel like your scalp and hair are squeaky clean, but scalp and hair (just like skin) need some oils to keep from drying out and flaking or breaking. The perfect balance is what we are striving for here.

So, feed your body properly in order to feed your hair from the inside, and make sure hair is cleaned but then fed with good conditioners on the outside. Sometimes outside influences (dry heat, prescription medications, illness or stress) damage our follicles and we need an extra boost to make our hair fuller, shinier, stronger or even to fill in balding patches where follicles are beginning to fail all together. In that case, an increase in the blood flow that actually carries the nutrients to the follicles may need a boost. The Nutreve Personal Hair Therapy Laser uses cool laser waves to stimulate the blood flow at the correct depth of the follicles creating a natural thinning hair treatment. This laser hair brush feeds the root of your hair, so it is not only fed inside and out, but also nourished from the bottom up!

This scrub lets conditioners work on hair and scalp after they have scrubbed away all of the excess. Just squeeze some shampoo into your palm and add a tablespoon of granulated sugar (it’s better on than IN our bodies!)…then mix and add to your head. Massage into your scalp to exfoliate. As the sugar melts away and the shampoo rinses out, your hair and scalp feel a new type of clean! And, the $ you save can buy you an umbrella drink!

Instead, think ahead and use a raw honey mask instead of conditioner the first time you wash your hair after coloring. All it takes is ¼ cup of raw organic honey and enough water to make a mixture you can easily spread on your hair. Leave it in place for 15 minutes and rinse out thoroughly. Add lavender or chamomile for a lovely scent! You can also research conditioners that are specifically made for color-treated hair. Either way you’ll keep your color and shine longer!

A laser hair brush can be used every other day for 15-20 minutes per treatment to stimulate the scalp’s follicles and allow them to produce a thicker, shinier hair shaft. Any viable follicle will respond to the increased blood flow and added nutrients it receives. Using a laser hair brush for hair loss will increase the volume and the quality of your hair.
Perusing the internet I come across some crazy ideas to cure all sorts of maladies, and the ones that say they cure balding are as varied as any. First of all, according to science, once a hair follicle is dead, then it will not produce a hair again…ever. However, hair follicles can become dormant or temporarily stop producing due to disease or trauma. In these cases hair may either be coming in at a slowed rate or very wispy and almost invisible and shedding is increased so that balding or thinning is increased even more.

So, taking out the idea that a dead follicle can ever produce a hair again, what do these internet wonders offer us for a balding or thinning hair treatment? In many cases, thinning or balding is caused by an excess of the hormone DHT around the hair follicle base. Natural vinegar rinses, shampoos and conditioners tout the ability to remove this chemical as well as the natural debris and residue buildup that can also clog the pore that the hair a follicle produces comes out of.

They are also cruelty free, handmade fresh, made in the USA and guaranteed.
Well, prescription drugs do work to increase hair production but they are very careful to say that it will only increase production in areas of live follicles. Hair transplant surgeries can take hair from fuller areas and put it in thinner or empty areas…but eventually you run out of “donor” follicles and scarring can overtake your scalp and be unsightly through hair you do have. Laser hair therapy however has come a long way from costly and time consuming production it used to be. Instead of visiting the salon every other day for ½ hour plus using time, gas and scheduling…Nutreve International has come up with a hand-held laser hair brush that works just as well at a fraction of the time and cost. The Nutreve Personal Hair Laser has a curved, smooth surface which houses 35 pulsing lasers that stimulate follicular hair growth. It has rechargeable batteries and is used every other day for 20-30 minutes a treatment and the cool, red wavelength lasers do not interfere with any hairstyle, texture, coloration, shampoos and medicines and is safe for all ethnicities and hair types. It is lightweight, rechargeable, cordless highly portable, and discreet. Check out their website as it has a spectacular guarantee and warranty and sells for around $600. This natural hair loss treatment is the best treatment for thinning hair on the market. See their before and after shots along with the testimonials and see what laser hair therapy is all about. It’s NOT snake oil!

Grow lights were invented and brought into small time use years ago. Folks have been able to produce small crops of the legal and illegal kind for years in their basements or unused rooms of the house. Of course these traditional lights take up a lot of expensive electricity and high electric bills were a sure way to catch illegal farming operations. States and countries where light is not as plentiful as others are now watching the proliferation of grow LEDs which will take much less electricity and are on target to make big steps in major food production. Vertical farming added to LED technology made for a first this year as an indoor farm out produced an outdoor farm of comparable size in the State of Indiana. Scientists are researching crop-specific lighting and are helped by the fact that these lights can be in the cool light spectrum which allows them to be close to the actual foliage itself, saving space and diffusion of light.

Laser light also has made leaps in the growth sector. After being mainstream in the cutting and destroying mode, their cool light or red wavelength is now becoming mainstream for healing and growth. The laser hair comb or laser hair brush has been making waves in the hair industry. Laser hair therapy actually increases blood flow in the scalp area and targets the base of the follicles to stimulate production and length of the hair growing phase. Any viable follicle will then produce a stronger, shinier hair shaft much as plant production is increased with LED light. Pulsing laser light is now the optimum combination of duration and frequency for a natural hair loss treatment.

Their brush has an ergonomic handle and the company even offers a stand for “hands-free” use! Very clever. A smooth, easy to clean, curved surface on the device makes sure that each laser light is focused at the optimum depth to reach the follicle base for the optimum amount of head coverage per treatment. Priced at about $600 for a one-time fee for this in-home thinning hair treatment device, you can feel good about your hair again and the environment as you use less gas and time than traditional salon treatment types.

Certainly parabens, sulfates and silica gels have had their bad rap over the last few years. Just as with our food, the products we put on our skin, scalp and in our bodies all can sell for two to four times the amount if they can be labeled organic. Manufacturers for the beauty and cosmetic field are certainly not stupid, and they have jumped on the band wagon of organics as well.

There is, however a huge difference between organic and all-natural. Vitamin C tablets for example can come from natural sources, but require synthetic help to keep them stable enough to be sale-able. Organic vitamin C must be eaten in the form of organic fruit. Almost every one of us takes some type of supplement to fill in the holes in a less than complete diet…and therefore we do depend on synthetics or at least non-organics to keep food supplements fresh and safe for consumption. A raw, organic diet is not possible for the majority of us living and working today…but at least we feel better trying to keep away from potentially harmful products as much as possible.

Taking out all synthetics in our beauty regimen would seem impossible as well. Creams, makeup, hair shampoos, conditioners can easily be organic or all-natural, but if we want to avoid lines and wrinkles we usually use sunscreens and products which have synthetic ingredients or would need to stay completely out of the sun to keep those lines, wrinkles and age spots away. Certainly glycolic acid and peptides are synthetic, but a lot of us use those to undo damage caused by the sun and “natural” aging! Hyaluronic acid and alpha-lipoic acid both occur naturally in the body. They have moisture adding and antioxidant qualities, but we cannot obtain enough naturally to fill our skincare lines, so the synthetic versions are used in production. Perfumes have been fooling our nostrils for years with synthetic scents. Most perfumes use synthetic additives or even those that do use natural floral molecules, find they must go through a chemical process to get rid of the unwanted parts and be fit for atomizing. A visit to Sephora lately however, has new rows of totally organic and all-natural scents for sale. Perhaps the shelf-life is not as good, but they do smell marvelous!

Alternative methods to shampooing in general have popped up on the radar. Although dry shampoos or using baby powder to soak up hair oils have been around for a long time but are making a resurgence along with creams that can be applied and rinsed out…no suds and no need for conditioners. Most of these creams are made from natural (some organic) oils. Keeping our scalps free of debris (oils and dead skin cells) is a must however for healthy follicles and hair shafts. The clearer the path, the easier it is for hair follicles to “breathe” and push out healthy hair. What happens though when our hair’s diameter gets smaller or our follicles weaken? Another natural hair loss treatment to the rescue! Nutreve International promotes it’s Nutreve Personal Hair Therapy Laser as a great alternative to taking or applying medicines (Rogaine or Minoxidil) or having surgery to regain that full, shiny head of hair. Their laser hair brush houses 35 cool light, low level lasers that reach down JUST far enough to target the base of the hair follicles where blood flow is increased and nutrients carried in the blood feeds these follicles and thus stimulates stronger, faster hair growth. As a treatment for thinning hair, the lack of synthetics taken orally or manually applied is appreciated and the body actually uses its own system to replenish what it needs for strength and growth.

We all want it NOW…whatever IT is. I am reading about “exercise in a pill”, “flabby belly eliminators”, “fat dissolving injections” and now “ cloning hair” to solve the age old need for a thinning hair treatment. Of course I remember when thinking that a botulism toxin being injected into my body was crazy! Now it’s the norm. So these other ideas may not be far off in the future either…including a way to clone our hair!

Men usually lose hair in specific parts of their head. This enables hair transplant companies to “harvest” hair from the thicker parts of the head and transfer them to areas where hair is thinning. Women on the other hand usually lose hair all over the head at the same rate, so it is harder to take hair from an area that is already thinning and producing thinner hair strands. The latest cloning idea allows hair to be grown “off site” (in a lab) and transplanted all over the head. This means that a dime sized area of hair can be turned into a whole head of possible implants.

This sounds like it would be an ideal female hair loss treatment. All of this sounds GREAT until you read the fine print! First of all, that would be very costly. It also seems like it would be a lot of surface area and a lot of pain and it would probably need to be done over a long time span to be tolerated. The success of the actual cloning procedure is not expected to happen for another 2-3 years though…and the actual time frame for FDA approval and use is expected to be 10 years for now.

There HAS to be a faster and an easier way to get a fuller head of hair! I believe the best natural hair loss treatment is laser hair restoration. There are several companies out there that offer a laser hair brush or laser hair comb that uses surface lasers pinpointed to the depth of the hair follicles. The laser energy stimulates blood flow and therefore cellular activity in the region. Hair shafts become thicker, hair fuller and shinier and hair loss lessens. Some devices are time consuming and require that you attend a clinic or treatment center for 15-20 minute treatments every other day. Other devices such as caps can be left on too long (which, like exercise can be counter productive!) and some devices are either uncomfortable or use only LED lights and mirrors to make it seem like they have power. The best device I have found is lightweight, portable, and rechargeable and even comes with a hands-free stand for those of us that like to multi-task. The Nutreve Personal Hand Held Laser also has more power and more actual lasers than any other laser hair restoration device AND now they have pulsed waves which is definitely the latest in effectiveness. So, for the time that you are spending to thicken and beautify your hair, you can multi-task and get more results, faster for your money.

Which Treatments for Hair Loss Really do Bring About Hair Regrowth?

Hair regrowth?! I know we can probably all agree that’s what almost everybody says their hair loss treatment or product can do…but then you hear about those very same products or treatments not being able to even slow or stop excessive hair loss or thinning hair, much less deliver on their promise of hair regrowth! So which treatments can and will work for you? Do any of them actually help regrow hair? We’ve already covered the first question in my last article, now I want to help you find out the answer to the second…which, if any, treatment option can regrow lost hair?

Hair Regrowth…Which of the Hair Loss Treatments Out There Can Do That?

First, let me tell you that once the hair has been completely lost (and the follicle is non-productive/dead) it will not grow back. The reason for this is that once the follicle stops producing hair completely (areas with bald spots or patches) and the follicle dies, there are no treatments available on the market today that can cause a dead follicle to begin growing hair again. The best candidates for most of the available non-surgical hair loss treatments are those with thinning hair, where the hair follicles still function and have not stopped producing hair completely. These follicles can possibly be repaired with treatment.

Hair loss or thinning due to medical conditions, medications, environmental issues, or physical or emotional causes usually stops once the issue has been resolved, and generally the hair in these cases does grow back, though this can take some time.

Certain Hair Loss Treatments May or May Not Regrow Hair

Vitamins, minerals and essential oils (whether in pill form or in hair care products) do not typically regrow lost hair. At least not on their own! Combined with other treatments, they may help create the best and healthiest environment for hair regrowth to occur, or to slow or stop further hair loss or thinning, but they do not effect this change on their own.

Wigs, weaves and hair pieces- they’re nothing but a cover! These items are only meant to help camouflage hair loss and thinning hair, not as a treatment option to slow, stop or reverse excessive hair loss. They do nothing to aid in hair regrowth and sometimes can even lead to further hair loss.

Topical treatments (such as Minoxidil, Propecia and Finasteride) – Depending on the level of hair loss, and what the cause of hair loss is, these treatments may or may not help with hair regrowth. Topical treatments can help to slow thinning hair and excessive hair loss down and possibly even to stop it. They can also be used in conjunction with other treatments like laser therapy to get better results.

In-home laser hair therapy (LLLT) – Hair regrowth, once again, is dependent on the type and level of hair loss already present, but this treatment does quite a bit to help slow and possibly even stop hair from thinning and from any further hair being lost. In addition, it also makes the follicles healthy again which in turn will slowly produce thicker and healthier hair shafts.

In-office laser hair therapy (LLLT) – As with in-home laser hair therapy, hair regrowth depends on the level and type of hair loss present, and this treatment does do quite a bit to help slow and even stop hair from thinning and from further hair being lost.

Skin lifts and grafts, scalp reductions, and hair transplants – They do not result in hair regrowth. All they do is move good hair into areas that have too little or none. These treatment options are usually applied when hair loss at a stage where hair regrowth is no longer possible in the areas affected, and the follicles there are dead.

I hope you found pertinent or useful information, as that is why I write these articles…in the hopes that I can help you wade through all the info and products and treatments related to thinning hair and hair loss and find the answers you need! Don’t hesitate to ask questions, or let me know if there is a hair loss related subject you would like to see me cover.

At Nutreve, feedback from our clients is a critical part of our reason for being in business. As you can see from the image below here is an example of a recent bit of feedback that is both a glowing endorsement and a question that might be of help you anyone considering purchasing a Nutreve Personal Hair Therapy Laser.

Laser Hair Therapy for Thinning Hair Consequences of Missing Treatments – Answer

We would like to observe that the feedback above was unsolicited and the particularly fast “hair regrowth” results mentioned may not apply to everyone. We recommend that you use your laser Personal Hair Therapy Laser over a period of months to be sure of good results.

In short, the user had been suffering from thinning hair for some time and was impressed with how quickly the laser produced a significant result. Given the great result he wanted to know if missing the treatment for a week or so as he traveled would significantly affect the great results he was experiencing.

Laser Hair Therapy for Thinning Hair Consequences of Missing Treatments – Answer

The answer is – yes, one can go out of town for short periods of time 1-2 weeks periodically and not have regression. It’s worth pointing out though that the reason our hair laser device is portable is so that people can easily take it with them wherever they go and not lose any treatments.

If a person travels a lot, we suggest that they take the device and continue regular treatments to maximize the benefits of laser hair therapy.

Are you using a Nutreve Hair Therapy Laser? We would love to hear from you! Simple use our contact form and let us know all about your experience.
