Why Wait to Address Your Hair Loss Concerns?
Although this is my last post of the year, the story is key in understanding that hair loss prevention is not a wait and see issue by a do it now issue.
About a week ago I was speaking with a young man in his first year in college at the barber shop next to our office. He must have been about 18 or 19 years old and already experiencing thinning hair. Alex, the barber, mentioned our hair loss product line to Steve and asked me to join the conversation. Steve was concerned that he was on the road to significant hair loss since his father and uncle were very thin at the ages of 45 and 47.

I told Steve that young people should look at the parent they resemble most to get an idea of what may happen to them physically as they age. Genetically in general, you will take after the parent you most resemble. Although family history is not the only reason for hair loss, it is the most common reason. Steve asked how soon he will need to do something to keep more hair than his dad. I explained that the time to start addressing hair loss is now. Since 95% of hair loss is hereditary and his father and uncle have significant hair loss, there is no reason to believe that Steve will not follow suit. By starting today with a hair loss remedy rather than waiting until his hair loss is more significant, there is a good chance that Steve’s hair loss can be stopped before there is a problem. I explained that a lot of people don’t think they need to worry about the problem until they begin to look thin. They don’t understand that eventually follicles that stop producing hair die and are lost forever. By not letting the follicle die the balding process is stopped or dramatically reduced.
Steve decided to get started now and asked for a brochure to give to his dad and uncle. I’m confident Steve will be really happy he decided to act now. Hopefully he will stay committed to the treatment system.
